Lincoln Castle & Roman Lincoln

LiDAR – Lincoln Castle - Lincolnshire DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) After visiting a couple of weeks ago and then the Museum of Lincoln I saw a drawing of how Roman Lincoln could have looked. I obviously had to see if LiDAR picked anything up. Look at that! My render almost matches the drawing! I’ve included a wide-field of the LiDAR tile so you can see the Roman road leaving Lincoln to the north. I composited the DSM (Digital Surface Model) of the castle itself on top of the DTM so you can see it properly as the DTM algorithm stripped it out with the rest of the buildings. I love that you can see the Roman town walls flowing down the hillside. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
