Hafod Camp
[PRN 101881] Overlooking the (River) Afon Gronw just south of the village of Llanboidy sits the well-preserved univallate inland promontory fort of Haford Camp. (Named after the farm to its west) Entrance at east terminal of the bank. In the year 1800 several Roman coins were found within the fort. The whole area is littered with defended enclosures & possible Roman fortlets. The only other site I could fit into frame is the Medieval motte & degraded bailey of Castell Mawr just 0.5km to the north and listed as a tumulus on old OS maps. The motte survives as a 2.6m high mound and a summit diameter of 15m. (See Street view image attached). No recorded finds or excavations, hence undated* (Scheduled monument) Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Demetae *Morphology suggests Iron Age date.
