Maes y Castell
[PRN 834] Atop a hillock 1.5km NE of the village of Salem sits the bivallate contour hillfort, Maes y Castell. East & SW entrances. Possible hut platforms revealed by interior erosion. Just to the site’s NW there is a small Neolithic/Bronze Age stone circle named, Llyn Taliaris. (Not on LiDAR frame). No recorded finds or excavations, hence undated* (Scheduled monument) Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Demetae *Morphology suggests Iron Age date.
