DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) To the south of the A399 overlooking the sea on Newberry Hill, west of Combe Martin lies the heavily degraded univallate hillslope fort, Newberry Camp, or locally, The Castle. Ditch with counterscarp. I nearly didn’t include this as you can’t really make it out and it’s not listed on Historic England or Devon’s HER map viewer. First written reference in 1822 in the Magna Brittanica. No further recorded finds or investigations, hence undated. Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Dumnonii (Un-Scheduled Monument) [Any descriptive text is attributed to the Atlas of Hillforts & Historic England websites]
