Castell Cynon
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Just over 4km south of Newport & overlooking the River Gwaun lies the smallest hillfort I've rendered yet. The univallate inland promontory fort, Castell Cynon. At 30x20m its tiny and would have only protected one or two roundhouses. Part-managed by the Tregynon Hotel as an amenity. Quarry damage to the north of the site in antiquity and crossed by an old boundary bank. Last site visit in 2007. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated.
