

DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Hidden within thick woodland overlooking the River Dart & to the east of Poundsgate lies the small univallate contour hillfort, Holne Chase Castle. Disturbed interior with stone heaps denotes old quarrying or unrecorded excavation. 12 flat iron currency bars found in 1870 by a gamekeeper with additional iron bars and a base of a jar in 1873. First written record in 1873. No further investigations, hence undated.
