Pendinas Lochtyn
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Overlooking the coastal town of Llangrannog from the north sits the promontory contour hillfort, Pendinas Lochtyn. When the MOD built their missile observation site (in 1939) at its summit pre-building excavations uncovered a possible round house and a four-post structure. C14 data from a post hole yielded a Bronze age date and a Romano-British date from a round house site. The ‘field boundary’ that bisects the promontory from the mainland to the site’s northwest may well be an indication of a a rampart with an additional settlement to its north but is unsubstantiated (at present).
