Caer Penrhos
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Just to the east of the town of Llanrhystud and overlooking the Penrhos Park caravan site from the east lies the contested hillfort, Caer Penrhos. Recorded as a medieval castle in 1148. Motte & bailey ringwork over possible Iron Age fort (suggested by morphology of the site) Lots of outworks / annexes. Toby Driver wrote a full description in 2002. Iron age theory rejected by Hogg and Davies in 1994. No recorded finds or excavations, hence undated*.
