Carn Ingli
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Overlooking Newport from the southeast atop Mynydd Carn Ingli lies the commanding stone-built partial contour hillfort, Carn Ingli. Interior sectioned into a series of enclosures. Possibly four phases of construction. Numerous hut circles populate the site inside & out. Site first mention in 12th century as Mons Angleorum and described by Fenton in his tour of Pembrokeshire (1810). (If you do a search, you can read it online). Possible date ranges from Neolithic to medieval. No recorded excavations or finds. Last site visit in 2011.
