Castell Gwyn
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) One kilometre west of the village of Llandissilio on an arc overlooking the river, Cleddsu Ddu lie the three hillforts: Castell Gwyn Ii, Castell Gwyn and Pant-y-Cadno. The first image shows all three in relation to each other. Castell Gwyn Ii: Univallate inland promontory fort. 2019 geophys found buried ditches in the field to the east. My annex indication may be contemporary as I don't know the extent of the geophys survey. Hint of an earthwork enclosure two fields west add to the summation that this was a much larger site. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated. Castell Gwyn: Multiple enclosure fort. Morphology suggests phased construction. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated. Pant-y-Cadno: Almost destroyed contour hillfort. Old silage pit bisects NE bank. Sizes approximate as there is a faint trace of an arc on the opposite bank of hillside. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated.
