Hilton Wood Castle
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Nearly three kilometres northeast of Week St Mary and hidden in woodland at Encore Parcs lies the univallate contour hillfort, Hilton Wood Castle. Well preserved rampart. Break it NE corner modern. First written reference in 1814 by D & S. Lysons. Last site visit in 1974. On the other side if the river to the east lies the associated polygonal Iron Age round, Froxton Wood Castle. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated.
