Warbstow Bury Camp
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Overlooking the village of Warbstow from the west lies one of the largest and best-preserved hillforts in Cornwall. (The name Warbstow is derived from 'The holy place of St Werburga'). This multiple enclosure hillfort traditionally held the site of the burial of the Giant of Warbstow (feature in centre of site). But is a pillow mound, or an artificial mound for keeping rabbits. Much discussed in antiquity but never excavated (to our knowledge). Last site visit in 2006 by the hillfort study group. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated. Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Dumnonii (Scheduled Monument) [Any descriptive text attributed to the Atlas of Hillforts & Historic England websites]
