Berry Castle
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Atop Berry Down & overlooking St Neot from the north-east lies the rectangular possible hillslope fort, Berry Castle. Contains nine stone hut circles or possible granite cairns. 13/14th century pottery sherds found at summit. Site degraded by quarrying and tin prospecting. Site also could be Neolithic Tor enclosure. As you can see from the screen grab from HER the site is surrounded by hut circle platforms. First recorded in 1440AD. Last field investigation 1973.
