Wallbury Camp

DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Lying just to the south of Bishops Stortford and to the west of Little Hallingbury is the bivallate oval hillfort, Wallbury Camp. Excavations in the late 1950’s found sequential rebuilding of ramparts and extensive iron age pottery finds. There were also some Romano British pottery & glass fragments which suggest Roman occupation, but as extensive excavations haven’t been made no further conclusions can be ascertained.
