Carn Alw
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Sitting atop the Preseli hills to the north of Pembrokeshire, west of Crymych lies the small triangular partial contour hillfort, Carn Alw. Defined by dry stone wall & 'Cheval de frise' (defensive obstacle) in an arc around the entrance with a stone lined pathway. Flanked north & south by Roman & Medieval settlements. Various collapsed rectangular hut structures populate the surrounding area (unknown provenance). Carn Meini, the source of the Stonehenge 'bluestones' lies due south. Last site visit in 2011.
