Kenidjack Castle
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Kenidjack Castle is a promontory fort which lies to the northwest of St Just & above the National Trust site, Cape Cornwall. Defined by three ramparts & rock-cut ditches, (which must have taken a long time). Site heavily degraded by cliff collapse & quarrying for copper ore. First written reference in 1728 (J. Norden). Late bronze age hoard found in 19th century (details lost). Last site visit by Hillfort Study Group in 2006. No recorded excavations, hence undated. Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Dumnonii (Scheduled Monument) [Any descriptive text attributed to the Atlas of Hillforts & Historic England websites]
