

DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Northwest of Axminster & overlooking Membury from the east lies the univallate contour hillfort, Membury Castle. Earth & Stone rampart construction. Extensive quarrying throughout its history but mainly to build the rampart defences. First written reference in 1833. No further recorded finds or investigations, hence undated.
