Carn Ffoi
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Overlooking Newport from the southwest atop Mynydd Carn Ingli and below Carn Ingli lies the small rocky contour hillfort, Carn Ffoi. Single dry-stone rampart. The rest of the defences have now collapsed & spread. Unknown if there was a relationship with Carn Ingli. SW of the site lies a series of 16 low mounds & crescent shaped earthworks (possible prehistoric cairns) as most of the stone has been removed from the mounds in antiquity but could still be hut circle platforms as there are 4 confirmed hut circles still extant (5m diameter). Last site visit in 2011. (Scheduled monuments) Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Demetae Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
