Poston Camp

DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) To the right of the B4348 in Vowchurch in Herefordshire lies the promontory hillfort, Poston Camp. Initial excavations in 1932-37 revealed an inner rampart destroyed by agriculture in the 19th Century. Finds include Iron Age pottery and significant Roman objects but an ash layer above these finds concluded the site was abandoned circa 200AD. (Scheduled monument)
