Castell Felinganol
DTM- (Digital Terrain Model, i.e. No buildings or foliage) Overlooking the River Afon Piliau west of the village, Pen-y-bryn lies the small promontory fort, Castell Felinganol (Felin-Ganol). Single, revetted rampart around 110m long and 5m high with outer rock-cut ditch (silted-up). Last site visit in 2007. No recorded excavations or finds, hence undated. (I really want to call these forts, Pizza-forts (where any extant hut-circles are the pepperoni!) Ahem… (Scheduled monument) Iron Age tribal association (conjecture based on location): Demetae Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
